Buhari says Trump questioned the killing on Christians in Nigeria also pleads with Nigerians to be fair with their judgement

President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari says the president of America Donald Trump questioned him about the killing of Christians in Nigeria.

He says the issue of the killings is not of recent but a very long time ago which isn’t the fault of his administration but that of the past administration.
Buhari also pleads with Nigerians to judge his administration with fairness. He said all of this at the closing ministerial performance review retreat held in Abuja.
He said “I want Nigerian elites to judge our administration with fairness.” As their adminstration has done more with the little resources they have.

Buhari also stated that before his administration the price of petrol was at an average of $100 per barrel and when his administration came in the price per barrel reduced to $37 to $38 per barrel, you know it. Over 2.1 million barrels were produced daily before his administration and during his time it was cut down to half a million per day.

He also stated that there has been an improvement in Infrastructure with the little resources the government is possessed with construction of new rail way tracks, making inter-state travel more easier with railways tracks connecting different states.

He also made mention of the infrastructural state of the country then being compared to now, they has been no changes the roads,the rails are dead and there was no power, up till now there is still no power.

Buhari said “I was doing my best” trying to fight corruption “following protocols” arbitrary to his military regime in 1984 where he just arrest and put politicians in jail and required them to prove their innocence.

Buhari’s reply to Trump question on him killing christians.The President said, “I believe I was about the only African among the less developed countries the President of United States of America invited and when I was in his office only himself and myself, he looked at me in the face, he said why are you killing Christians. I wonder if you were the one how you would react. I hope what I was feeling inside did not betray my emotion, so I told him that the problem between the farmers and cattle rearers, I know is older than me not to talk of him. I think I am a couple of years older than he is, were happening as a result of enroachment in the northern part of the country and makes it difficult for cattles to feed.

So, I tried and explained to him, this has got nothing to do with ethnicity or religion. It is a cultural thing and leadership which was failing the nation.
